Description
This water-soluble release agent is designed to facilitate the release of concrete or gypsum plaster castings from rubber molds. It ensures a clean release without compromising surface detail and helps reduce air bubbles in finished castings.
Features
- Does not stain or soften concrete surfaces.
- Mixes with water for cost-effectiveness.
- Does not affect the color of cast concrete.
- Minimizes 'bug holes' in concrete and air bubbles in gypsum castings.
- Keeps molds clean without buildup.
- Significantly extends mold life.
Mixing Instructions
- Mix 4 parts water to 1 part agent.
- Mix by hand or with a slow-speed mixer. Avoid shaking to prevent foaming.
- The dilution ratio may vary based on the concrete aggregate mix and form material.
- For low grit/high sand content, use a 4:1 water to agent ratio. For high grit, use a 2:1 ratio.
- Prepare only the amount needed for one day, as the mixture may separate after 24 hours. Re-mix before use.
Application Instructions
- Apply thoroughly with a brush, roller, or spray.
- If using a pressure sprayer, maintain a pressure of 172 kPa (25 psi) or higher.
- Use flat spray tips for uniform application.
- Avoid allowing the release agent to puddle.
Caution: Do not over-apply, as excessive use can cause air bubbles, 'wormtracks', 'bugholes', or pitting on surfaces. Conduct a small test application to ensure suitability for your project.
Instructions
Mix the release agent with water at a typical ratio of 4:1, adjusting to 2:1 for high grit content. Stir gently and avoid shaking to prevent foaming. Apply evenly to clean molds using a brush, roller, or sprayer at approximately 172 kPa (25 psi). Avoid puddling and over-application. Pour concrete or gypsum as usual. Reapply as needed between casts. Prepare only the daily quantity and re-mix if separation occurs. Clean tools with water.
